Tulsi is one of the sacred plants in Hindu religious tradition. Tulsi name means which is incomparable in Hindi 'atulya'. Tulsi plant is one of the respective plant and worship in most of the houses on a daily basis. In India, Tulsi comes in two varieties dark or Shyam Tulsi, and light which is green in color and known as Ram Tulsi. One of the advantages of Tulsi is it has high medicinal value for curing so many diseases and used in ayurvedic medicines, apart from used in many cosmetics beauty products. Tulsi as a Deity :
Tulsi is considered as Deity/Goddess in India. It represents the religious bent of the hindu family. One can find Tulsi tree in almost every Indian house courtyard. As per Indian mythology, Tulsi is considered as the most lovable plant of Lord Vishnu and Krishna (incarnation of Vishnu). Tulsi leaves are used while offering naivedya to God. It has been believed that all the deities resided in the plant of Tulsi from its root to the tip. It is considered as Hari-Priya, and one can find a whole garden dedicated to Tulsi in Vrindavan city of India, naming"Nidhivan". Further, Vrindavan- a holy town in U.P. is named on Tulsi, as Vrinda is again the name of Tulsi. Tulsi is mentioned in Padma Puran, it has been said that offering flowers made of gold, stones, and pearls do not have even one-sixteenth of the importance of Tulsi.
